Angelo Thomas is a filmmaker and digital content producer based in Columbus, Ohio.
Angelo’s life and career changed the moment he decided to document his recovery from anorexia online in 2018. That experience became the inspiration for The Incredible Jake Parker, a young adult novella and later a feature film released in 2020. Angelo went on to direct DeRosa: Life, Love & Art in Transition, a feature-length documentary about a transgender artist. Next, Angelo wrote and directed the horror comedy short film Three Quarters Dead, partially funded by a grant from the Greater Columbus Arts Council. His films can be found on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Tubi, and other streaming platforms worldwide.
Currently, Angelo is preparing to release his first comic book, a contemporary reimagining of The Wizard of Oz. Somewhere… releases March 11, 2026, and is available for pre-order on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
Angelo proudly worked for the Harris-Walz campaign in Pennsylvania and currently serves as Deputy Communications Director for Digital for Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein. He previously served in digital communications roles at Mental Health America and the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA).
Angelo earned a B.F.A. in Film & Video from the Columbus College of Art & Design, where he graduated with the honors of Outstanding Senior and the Commitment to Service Award. He has served as a juror for the Central Ohio Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and the Columbus International Film & Animation Festival.
