Angelo Thomas is a filmmaker, author, and digital content producer based in Columbus, Ohio.

A turning point in Angelo’s life and career came in 2018, when he began documenting his recovery from anorexia online. That experience became the inspiration for The Incredible Jake Parker, a young adult novella and later a feature film released in 2020. Angelo went on to direct DeRosa: Life, Love & Art in Transition, a feature-length documentary about a transgender artist. He later wrote and directed the horror-comedy short film Three Quarters Dead. Angelo’s films can be found on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, YouTube, and other streaming platforms worldwide.

In March 2026, Angelo published his first graphic novel, Somewhere…, a contemporary reimagining of The Wizard of Oz. The book is available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Books of Wonder.

Angelo is currently developing Stranger Danger, an original horror/thriller feature, and is in post-production on a concept trailer for the project.

Outside of his creative projects, Angelo has built a career in politics, public service, and digital communications. He worked on Kamala Harris’ 2024 presidential campaign and currently serves as Deputy Communications Director for Digital for Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein.

Angelo earned a B.F.A. in Film & Video from the Columbus College of Art & Design and received the Outstanding Senior and the Commitment to Service awards. He has served as a juror for the Central Ohio Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and the Columbus International Film & Animation Festival.
